Red Envy
A rich nose that speaks to each component in the blend; mellow spice notes of black pepper and anise from the tempranillo, juicy boysenberry and powdery violet from the Petit Sirah, wet granite minerality and dark cherry with a taught, resinous backnote from the Cab. These are all brought together by the cola spice and caramel lent by the oak barrels the wine was aged in. The palate is sleek and smooth up front with a fine chalky tannin structure that builds into the mid-palate and finish, evolving from cocoa powder to espresso as it exits. Juicy cherry and spice notes are enhanced by the mild heat of the alcohol as it warms throughout and lingers in the medium-long finish.
